- Invite a Friend - you can now invite a friend to try AIM by selecting Sign on a Friend from the Menu options.

- This release contains improved functionality with Online Buddy detection.
- An Import/Export feature has been added which allows you to save your
list of online buddies and many of your preference settings. You can
then import your list and settings to another copy of AOL Instant
Messenger or share them with friends. Note: You cannot import or export
settings from an AOL account.
- A Change Password/Screen Name feature has been added which allows you
to change your password whenever you are signed on to the AOL Instant
Messenger service. You can make any change you want to your password
as long as your password contains between 4 and 16 characters.
- If you are dissatisfied with the capitalization and spacing in your
screen name, you can change it while you are signed on. If you want
to make any other changes to your screen name, you must register a
new screen name at the AOL Instant Messenger web site.
- The Help documentation has been updated with the new features.
Release notes (Bugs Fixed) for 1.0.208:
- The installer now checks to see if a previous version of AIM is running before starting the actual installation.
- A Net Detect feature has been added. During the installation, users are
asked if they want the AIM client to launch upon starting Windows and
their mode of connecting. After enabling the "Save password" and "Auto-
login" options on the Sign-On screen, the next time Windows is started,
AIM will launch and connect automatically.
- Screen names are only saved in the Sign On drop down menu if the login
was successful.
- Certain password combinations caused an "Invalid Password" error - this
has been fixed.
- The "Close Buddy List Window" functionality has been re-designed on
Win95. Clicking the Minimize button closes the window; it can be
re-opened by clicking on the icon in the system tray. Clicking the
Close button exits the application.
- The Delete key can be used to delete a screen or group name within the
List Setup tab of the Buddy List window.
- The Preferences dialog now fits on a 640x480 screen when running Win95.
- "Allow only users on my Buddy List" has been added to the Privacy Tab in
the Preferences dialog. This option allows only those users who have
been added to a person's buddy list to communicate with that person.
- An option has been added that allows a user to control the display of
their idle time to other users. It is available on the Privacy tab in
the Preferences dialog.
- The "Enter key inserts Return" option, located on the Misc. tab of the
preferences dialog, now works correctly when enabled.
- Accelerator keys and tabbing now work correctly in the Privacy tab of
Preferences dialog after adding/removing screen names.
- Text in the Info window no longer gets truncated when using Large Fonts.
- Text Formatting is no longer dropped after a link is inserted in an IM.
- In Win 3.1.x, the drop down menu in the IM window now works.
- In Win 3.1.x, Shift+F10 will bring up the right mouse button popup menu
when focus is in the Buddy List window.
- The Help documentation has been updated with the new features.
